to bring your love story to life through wedding stationery.
Phase 1- Let's Chat.
We'll begin by hearing your story and understanding your vision- whether that's via phone call, email, a visual inspiration board, or, if you're located in Los Angeles, an in-person meeting at our studio. From our initial conversation, we'll be able to present a rough estimate of costs, ideas, and timeline.
To officially begin the design process, a 50% deposit is required to book Swell Press.
Phase 2- Initial Concept Presentation.
After we have a firm grasp on what you're looking for, we'll tap into our creative zone, and begin drafting. Timelines vary, but initial concepts are presented generally within 2 to 4 weeks.
Phase 3- Refining the Vision.
We'll refine the design through up to three rounds of edits, included in custom pricing. We'll work together and achieve that "I want to cry this is so perfect" level of satisfaction.
Phase 4- Design Confirmation.
Once the design is confirmed, we'll send proofs over for design confirmation. This is where we'll finalize every last detail, and then get the project into creation. After the proofs are approved, we order our letterpress plates.
Phase 5- Production.
Printing generally takes anywhere from 3 - 4 weeks*, with finishing such as hand painting, die-cutting, and edge painting assuming extra time. Our wedding stationery is created in Los Angeles, on one of our century-old presses.

Phase 6- Finishing Touches.
After production is complete and your wedding invitations are brought to life, we'll carefully pack up your invitations for shipment or alert you to pick them up. We also offer digital calligraphy, or will happily coordinate envelope calligraphy from one of the many talented calligraphers we work with. We're also here to help with postage selection with custom-designed or sourced vintage stamps, as well as invitation assembly. We'll even take care of mailing your invitations for you.
Phase 7- The Big Day.
We love nothing more than to carry out our brides and / or groom's vision through carefully curated and beautifully executed details for the day-of. Whether you'd like custom drink stirrers, cocktail napkins, signage, menus, or programs, we're here to help. For our DIY couples, we'll gladly provide you a file of your designs and / or wedding logos. This service is included in the fully custom design fee, and available for a small fee for semi-custom or stock designs. For our couples less enthused about DIY-ing day-of items, we're happy to help design and execute everything from the welcome tote bags to the treats they'll take home with them at the end of the night.
